Global Education
Global Education in Middle School is a meaningful mix of lessons, programs and opportunities that come together to help students grow in knowledge, confidence and character — which, at this stage of their development, encourages a healthy sense of exploration and curiosity that moves them out of their comfort zone.
In the Middle School, students have their first opportunities to travel domestically and internationally, applying lessons from the classroom to real-world experiences. A group of Middle Schoolers head to Chadwick International, our sister school in South Korea, each fall for the annual Songdo 7s Soccer Tournament. This trip brings students from around the globe together, building community and cultural competence.
Another integral part of Middle School is the Chadwick Immersion Program (ChIP), exclusively developed by our faculty for students to step away from traditional learning in the classroom in order to take a deep dive into an area of interest. Our students can explore our government in Washington, D.C., practice Spanish in Costa Rica, hike in the United Kingdom, and delve into Korean culture in Los Angeles, among many other experiences. By the end of ChIP week, our Middle Schoolers return not only with richer knowledge and stronger skills but with a deeper confidence and curiosity.
These experiences are so important in opening our students’ eyes to how the world works — and how they can affect it. Not only do our students connect with the world, they understand why that connection matters.
