Visual Arts
Expert educators teach the technical skills involved in a wide variety of arts practices, including painting, photography, graphic design, film, ceramics and media. Students are challenged to build more independent projects and portfolios, they learn how to thoughtfully critique work and they are supported in taking what are often valuable artistic risks.
Field trips to local museums and galleries are included in certain courses, as is time in the studio and direct instruction from seasoned creators.
The desire to create and communicate is cultivated in the Upper School.
